akt is a German double meaning. It's the nude, the body as art, and it's also the act, something you do. akt is a queer party series in Cologne built to bring the whole community into one room, so I wanted the identity to live in both readings at once. The body as the shared language of the dancefloor, and the night as an act of celebration and coming together.
Instead of the representative rainbow, I went for iridescence, surfaces that hold the whole spectrum at once. Every poster is one continuous 3D-rendered material. Liquid chrome, glass bubbles, fur. They feel playful, bodily and sensual without being explicit, and they can't be broken into parts, which is kind of the whole point.
The one constant is the wordmark, a wide, soft, almost liquid sans, clean and white on every poster. Everything else changes from night to night, the texture, the palette, the mood, while the logo holds it all together. Each event gets its own world, the brand stays recognizable.
The result is soft, strange, and physical rather than corporate. A language about body, material, and light, and about a community recognizing itself.
